Introduction

In EXTREME MsF our students addressed the emergency clinics build by Medics sans Frontiers for treating Ebola and Covid-19 in Congo. There was an emphasis on routing, use of local materials, climate design, assembly and so on.

Teaching was done by visiting prof Achim Menges, prof Peter Luscure (climate design), Michele Palmieri (structure design), Gilbert Koskamp (wood design) and Job Schroën (architecture and coördination). Lectures were contributed by Nick Schreiner of Doctors without Borders, ambassador Robert Schuddeboom of The Netherlands in the DRC and Martine van der Does of the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
